Heights Recruitment

Heights Recruitment rebranded, and the old site could not carry it. We built a Webflow engine that publishes every live role on its own. Traffic is up 490% year on year.

Heights Recruitment

Heights Recruitment finds construction, civil, engineering and electrical people for employers across the South Island, working out of Christchurch and Dunedin. When they came to us in 2026 the rebrand was already done. The new identity was slate and lime, the tone was direct, and the whole thing was a long way from the industrial labour hire look the business had started with. The website had not caught up. It still described the earlier version of the company, it was slow on mobile, and every role the team posted in JobAdder had to be posted a second time on the site by hand.

Where we started.

We spent the first part of the project working out what the site actually had to do, and the answer was less about pages and more about the job board. For a recruiter, the board is the product. Candidates check it constantly, employers use it to judge whether the firm is busy, and Google treats every role as its own page. A board that runs a day behind the recruitment system, or still lists roles that filled last week, undermines everything else on the site. So the integration came first, and the design was built around what it produced.

The job board came first.

We worked with Matthias Law of Refined Digital on the connection to JobAdder. Matthias built the side that talks to the recruitment system and we built the side that receives it. A role posted in JobAdder now appears on heightsrecruitment.co.nz within twenty minutes, with its own page, its own place in the site's job listings and structured data that Google reads as a job posting. When the role fills, it comes down without anyone logging in. The Heights team has not had to touch the job board since launch, which was the point.

Six sectors and 102 questions.

The second layer was the sector pages. Heights recruits across construction, civil and infrastructure, engineering, electrical, leadership and sales, and permanent and contract work, and each of those audiences searches differently. We wrote a page for each one, aimed at the person doing the hiring in that field, and connected it to the recruiters who specialise there and the live roles in that sector. Underneath that sits the team, an insights section and a bank of 102 answers to the questions candidates and employers ask before they pick up the phone. All of it is managed through the CMS, so the Heights team owns the content rather than waiting on us.

How Heights gets found.

Structured data runs through the whole site. The business is described once, with both offices, and every sector, job, article and answer refers back to it. It is unglamorous work and it is where a lot of the search result comes from. Organic visibility is up 85% on the same period last year. We also held the build to our performance standard, which is 95/100 in PageSpeed Insights, and this one came in at 98. On a job site with patchy coverage, a foreman checking a role on their phone gets the page rather than a loading spinner.

Keeping it feeling like Heights.

The brand is confident and spare, and it would have been easy to bury that under motion. We kept the animation light. Cards lift on hover, sections ease in as you scroll, and the navigation shifts colour as the page moves beneath it. Everything is written in code rather than added through a plugin, so it stays fast and it stays consistent. The site looks like a firm that charges for judgement, which is what Heights sells.

What the numbers say.

Measured in GA4 against the same period last year on the old site, traffic is up 490% and conversion events are up 360%. Part of that is the low bar the old site set. Most of it is a site that finally describes the business and can be found by the people looking for it. Either way, the engine that produced those numbers is now the one Heights runs on.

What happens next.

Launch is the start of the useful part. Heights signed on to maintenance and security, so the job feed, the structured data and the performance standard get looked after every month, and to Webflow Analyze, which gives them a clear view of who is visiting and what they do next. If your own site is still wearing an identity you have moved on from, this is what the fix looks like.
